What does Sunshades mean?

The "sun" reflects the joyful stories we introduce  through our boxes. The "shades" represents the diversity of the characters, authors, and illustrators represented in those stories.

Who are the boxes for?

Our board book boxes are designed for children birth through two years old. The mini-kits are designed for children ages 3 - 5 years old. The mini-kit contains choking hazards and is not intended for children under the age of 3. Adult supervision is always required. 

What's inside?

Each mini-kit includes:

  • One hardcover picture book
  • All the materials needed for one child to complete one activity based on the book (sibling boxes include additional materials for two children)
  • A full color guide that walks you through the activity. 

Each board book box includes:

  • Two board books
  • A written prompt to support early language development 

Do I have to subscribe?

Yes. Boxes are pre-paid for 3,6, and 12 month terms. When we have additional inventory, we may offer one-time box purchases. Month-to-month boxes are only available as a subscription.

When will my box ship?

All boxes are sold as pre-orders. Your box will ship the first week of the upcoming month when you join by the 19th of the current month. In order to have your box included for the upcoming month, your order must be placed by the 19th. For example, all boxes ordered on or before April19th will ship the first week of May. 

How will I be charged? 

All subscriptions will automatically renew until you cancel. You will be charged based on the subscription term that you select. We use a secure payment processing system for recurring payments. You may update your payment information using the log-in information sent to you in your confirmation email. 

How do I pause or cancel my subscription?

You will receive log-in information directly from PayWhirl at the time of your purchase. You may use your credentials to pause or cancel directly in the platform. Once charged, pre-paid subscriptions can not be cancelled until it is time for them to renew.

What is the refund policy?

Due to the curated nature of our product we are unable to accept returns. However, we want each member of our Sunshades family to be happy with their purchase. Please contact us at hello@sunshadesbox.com if your package arrives damaged or is missing items. 

How much is shipping?

$5 Flat-rate shipping is included for all subscription orders via USPS media mail. You will receive tracking information once your order ships.
